Ellis has her senior year perfectly planned: focus on her Columbia journalism application and lay the groundwork for her future career. But her plans are upended when her parents separate, and she's forced to move from New York City to Bramble Falls, Connecticut, with her mom. Though the town is charming, it's full of distractions, including Cooper Barnett, her former best friend and first kiss who now keeps his distance. Ellis is swept into the town's festive spirit, especially its annual Falling Leaves Festival, run by her aunt. As she's dragged to small-town events and keeps crossing paths with Cooper, Ellis starts to warm to both the town and its people. Torn between her city dreams and the unexpected pull of Bramble Falls, Ellis must choose between the future she always wanted and the one she never saw coming.
